Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] [RC] Watch this horse get down and boogie! - Juli Jakub

I agree with Angie...tail swishing is not always a sign of discomfort. I watched it a few times and the relaxation in the body and the happy ears...in other words she never pinned her ears even when the tail was swishing...made me think she was fine. The look in her eye seemed like she was having fun. I think the tail swish is connected to concentration and trying really hard! As for the spurring....it did not seem to me he was spurring anymore than most upper level dressage riders...and it may look like they are spurring but most of the time with good riders it is a mere touch. Riding with spurs at the high level is an art form...I never really got the hang of it...I prefer to ride without but alot of people do. Of course I am not a high level dressage rider...just a silly eventer hoping to turn endurance rider but I did ride and train with many top dressage people. Hopefully he was using them appropriately. I thought the performance was the bravo type.
Cheers,
Juli

I think swishing the tail can be like frowning. You may do it when you're
mad, but you can also do it when your really concentrating. I thought it
looked like a pretty happy performance. Darned impressive.
