Re: [RC] [RC] pregnant and riding - rides2far@xxxxxxxx

Why can't doctors give women a little credit?

Gimme a break. Credit? Dang, if I put my credentials on paper I could
make it look like I had as much right to ride right on through as
anybody...but I KNOW BETTER than to think I can make sure nothing
happens. Heck, I don't fall off, I fall under. Maybe I'd be better
off to fall off but seems like every time I go down it's because the
horse went down.

Personally, I didn't ride *at all* when pregnant. Yeah, I probably
could have found a really safe, careful horse to piddle around on but
why? What's 9 months out of your life? If I'll stay off my horse 9
months because he's got a strained suspensory, what does it say if I
can't stay off of him 9 months because I want to take no chances with
my baby? However, the best method for me was to combine the
suspensory injury with the pregnancy. My daughters ended up 4 years
apart instead of the 2 I'd planned, but the horse finally went lame,
I got pregnant, and we killed 2 birds with one stone. :-)
