Re: [RC] [RC] [Endurance Riding: News] National Federations to Report Metabolic Eliminations - John Teeter

I should note that the following?bullet?items where listed as being in the sights of the "Qualifications" working group:

1. Qualifications (2 members)
??a) Qualifications for Championships
??b) Horse Log Book/Results Record
??c) Weights
??d) Regional Championships
??e) Handicap System
??f) Leasing of horses

Ref:?World Endurance Forum – Paris 2007 ?-?Task Force Areas of Review?

I've placed the document from which the above is quoted at:

There are items such as certification of course designers, rider suspensions/horse rest periods for?metabolic?elimination, minimum rest periods between events, etc.

There are some interesting proposals which we may see forthcoming when we finally get a public review of the positions taken on these points. As in - will the handicap system be constructed from the world ranking system perhaps?? (for those not aware, the world ranking system is explained here:?

It is kind of difficult to say what direction the FEI Endurance rules will go in the fall of 2008. The task force working groups have, I understand, completed their work with the submission of the interim reports (10/31/07) - the final reports will be prepared by the FEI staff and sent to the NFs in April for their comment b/f the new rules/procedures are proposed/approved by the FEI next Nov.?

No, this happened b/f the working groups were formed (following the April Paris forum). We don't know what the working groups have proposed. And will not find out till sometime mid next year.

I assume this was put in place by the FEI Endurance Technical committee.

Would this be an idea coming from the working committee for equine protection? Just an innocent question.
