[RC] mash (ultium) - GENTRY YOST

I just got caught up on my ridecamp digest and noticed all the discussion about ultium. While on the Sante Fe horse ride we had 8 horses and 4 were personally mine. All I can say is whether or not the horses were running that particular day or just being shuttled in and out of trailers and camps (all in one day, everyday) Ultium with purina Complete plus my supplement mix (pro-bios, se-E, etc.) all of my horses kept their weight on over the 2.5 weeks we were traveling. During the ride I also add Race ready to the mix and they all do very well. It was so hard to actually soak and drain pelleted beet pulp morning and night, set up camp, take down camp, drive two rigs, or ride that day to soak plain beet pulp, therefore I used the purina Complete in BP"s place. I had horses ranging from the ages 5-6-10-12 and they looked fantastic when I brought them home! Not to mention some of the hay that was availble to buy was literally used as bedding, my horses would not touch any of it. We did get lucky a few times and went out on our own to find decent hay that our horses would eat but ultium definitely is worth the money to keep the weight on IMO.
