[RC] Mariposa Protest filing results in EN - Debbie Ekhaml

I have just finished reading page 40 in the current EN
and am positively nauseated. I was not at this ride,
but I sure have some questions of those that were.
I was unable to find any Tina Jordan as an AERC
member. How was it she filed a protest? And with
what gall after bringing a subhuman that tortures
animals to our endurance world. There are many out
there that think what we do is cruel to begin with let
alone to bring this kind of shame on us all. An
outsider would not know that this Creatan was not a
regular rider. And why did Tina not educate someone
she brought as to how an endurance ride works? Where
were all the other riders as this Puke rode his horse
to near death? How did he pass the vet check and what
was the mileage at the check? I disagree with no
action taken against the rider. AERC member or not,
ALL entered riders have to abide by the rules. I hope
he was charged to the hilt for the vet services. He
could be banned from future rides (as someone with
this mentality should). This type of person should
not even be allowed to own an animal. He needs a
Motorcycle. I would have personally called the Humane
Society. What kind of care do you think this horse
got after he left the ride? If he has the balls to
ride like that in front of a large group of strangers,
what do you think that animal goes through at home?
Clifford Sies, in my opinion needs to be assaulted.
He did much more to his horse; He almost killed it at
a ride. I too would have lost my temper had I
witnessed this and I still don't understand why this
wasn't stopped before this horse "needed 40 liters of
fluid and had visible spur welts". I don't understand
why a protest needs to be filed against the rider to
have anything done to him? He clearly violated
numerous rules. Someone, ANYONE, needed to step up
and prosecute Sies. I am not condoning what Patrick
McDonald did. I don't know him and was not there and
I'm sure Tina may have "been frightened". She damn
well should have been. Every single rider at that
ride should have been mortified at what was happening
at our sport. I know that my boyfriend just attended
his first ride as my crew and had he seen that, would
have not been as contolled as Mr McDonald. He would
have followed him through that hole in the fence until
Sies dropped from exhaustion. I think jabbing with
spurs and beating would have been appropriate after he
dropped. I personally will not recognize the Censure.
While Mr McDonald may have gone overboard, someone
needed to make an impression on this Putrid human
being. I would also like to know what happened to
this horse from an unbiased person, not "friend," Tina
Jordan. I don't get to read ridecamp often and maybe
this was discussed when it happened. But it would be
nice if someone that was there could answer my
questions. As it is, I will have trouble sleeping
tonight thinking about this. I hope I never see
Clifford Sies (or Tina Jordan) at our rides. They are
the anti-definition of what our sport is all about.
              Debbie
(an AERC member who has also done numerous Ride and
Ties and understands what we put our horses through)
