[RC] another bump to consider - Mary Krauss

My 5 year-old nutcase, I mean, endurance prospect Leo has a one-inch hard, round lump halfway up on his cannon bone. He didn't have it a few months ago. It is painless apparently--he doesn't react to pressure there at any rate. Is this a common no-big-deal occurrence or something I should be checking into further? I've heard of splints but don't understand what they are exactly. This lump is part of or on the bone. It's toward the front of his leg and is not near any moving parts.

To complicate matters I keep imagining that he's off a bit, but then, when I lunge him, he seems steady. He has such crazy extravagant movement at liberty (very limber and English Pleasure like) that I can't tell if he's off or if I'm just reading him wrong.

Thoughts?

Mary K.
