Have you seen the horse market lately? I wouldnt tell anybody to buy a horse for breeding. With the slaughter plants closed there are so many unwanted horses out there people are giving away horses.

Based on what you've been told by the vets and the fact that you do plan to breed her eventually, it seems to me that you don't have much to loose by buying her. If she turns out not to be sound, breed her sooner rather than later.
