Subject: stallions

OK just had to put my 2cents in about the stallion thingy.? We have Ty Trax a great grandson to Bask top and bottom.? He is not a big stallion 14'2 but, has legs that are strong and straight ...hooves of steel and a drop dead gorgeous head.? He carried me 2004 over 800 miles of competition !!!!!? Taking Heavyweight Champion in UMECRA that year and placing top ten in the Jim Jones Stallion award AERC (ok so I am bragging alittle)? So that last 2 years we've been busy building a new barn and the business so haven't competed but, 1 ride ...however...just for fun we loaded Tyler up in the trailer last year and took him to an arab show...not a real big one but, took him in the halter class:? stood against a stallion that had placed TOP TEN? at Scottsdale and Tyler won the class.? Later I asked the judge why she placed the horses the way she did....she said when she looks at a horse she is looking for a horse that not only looks pretty but, looks like it could go out in the world and do something and not break down.? I told her of Tyler's record and she said it didn't surprise her one bit....then I told her he was 18....she turned and looked me straight in the eye and said NO WAY !!? The rest of the stallions in the class were under 10 and she said that in her mind Tyler was the only one who looked like he was a doing horse....now at the age of 19 we are working on dressage with him and he is taking to it? unbelievably quick...? He has an awesome work ethic and his babies have been easy to work with.? When we looked at him to bring him home that was one thing that was important to us was could he be a working boy....the answer YES!!!!
