[RC] What pads for concussion/shoeing - Skyla Stewart

I'm helping a friend out. What pads do/have you use(d) when shoeing for heavy concussive going, such as endless miles of pavement or similar footing? Particularly if you use(d) rim pads, which ones,  Have "heard" about the Shocktamers, how do they hold up (rim pads)? Any of you ever have the hoof wall split from the coronary band, as a result of concussion?  The shoeing is correctly balanced, the hoof horn is good, but the equine is extremely heavy in relation to size of the hoof, and the problem only shows itself on a HARD surfaced ride. Most likely they won't be doing the hard surfaced rides anymore, but would like to know more about pads, and if/how they work.

Thanks,
Skyla
