This was an old post but I just saw it and wanted to point something out.
I was using my coffee grinder to grind bute pills, antibiotics, and also
the tums I put in my electrolytes. After reading how little bute it takes
to test I wondered if I could have made my horse test positive simply by
using the same grinder on tums I'd used on bute.  Then when somebody said
to just put the pills
in water it was a major DUH! moment. They disolve in seconds, then I mix
in applesauce & dose or dump in food.
