Hi Terry,

Lots of "reputable" organizations use both cookies and web bugs to assist
the people that frequent their websites.  Some use these devices not to
help their users but to gather information on those people.

Your defensive tone suggests that you think I am attacking YOU.  I am not.
 You didn't know this was happening because they did it without TELLING you.

It is okay not to realize this was happening but it is not reasonable to
deny it once you have been shown that it is true.

Here is the Spam Strainer warning my isp added to the header of your email:
X-SS_Warn: Web Bug!  Sender tracks this email if you load images.

Here is the actual web bug from your email.  If you want, open the email
yourself and check out the "source" for it (it is at the bottom):

I can't read html but given the source, my guess is that hsus has assigned
you the number 31626134 (nid=) and that every time the email is viewed,
your id # and the email address reading the email (sp2f-email-open) are
sent to www.hsus.org/assets.  The size of the bug is 1 pixel high and 1
pixel wide.

If you want to be angry at someone, don't be angry at me - I'm the
messenger.  Be angry at the people who get you to send their web bugs out
to your unsuspecting friends.
