robert, I really don't think a horse's back shoudl be sore from trying any kind of saddle. Yeah, he'she may be tolerant of it and eventually go numb and give up, but no, not work out of the soreness if the saddle isn't right.

If you get a pair of flexible shoes and they pinch your feet, they will most likely always pinch your feet and be uncomfortable and you'll leave them in the closet in favor of shoes that feel/fit better
