[RC] Winter riding Redux ,again - edna leigh libby

I Love winter too. No Bugs! Here in Maine I use ski
mittens with vinyl reinforcements on rubber reins (or
ones with stoppers, on cold days. Which to me means
less than 25 degree fahrenheit or any day the wind is
blowing. even on windy days the woods here are plenty
thick to be protective. The snowmobile trails get so
nicely packed, I find it the best footing of the
entire year. I carry a wool rump rug and make sure my
horse is dry neck and chest before stopping to picnic
or what-have-you. Water availability determines the
length of ride for us.
