Re: [RC] Running, OT--Not! - Beverley H. Kane, MD

Title: Re: [RC]   Running, OT--Not!
Running is not off-topic on an endurance list!
(Maybe not as relevant as Tevis trail news but way ahead of loose dogs in camp.)
It’s really important to keep fit for our sport.
The fitter we are, the kinder it is to our horses.
Our sister sport is ride-and-tie—mostly the same people & horses as endurance.

I am training to –crew- at Tevis by running hills in the heat (and riding in the car w/o the air conditioner.)
I always try to alternate run/ride days, occ get both in on one day.

Have done 1 marathon, several 1/2 marathons, lots of 10Ms + 10Ks; was in private practice of sports medicine for many years in which I trained many marathoners and fun runners. PM me if you want personal recommendations. I get so much from Ridecamp. I do want to give back. (Tho...I might charge you “endurance tips” and horse tips as I am still new to it.)
