Actually the Ag Inspection station on I-80 has been closed for the last 4 years.  There is one on 395 N bound out of Reno but they usually just want to chat and admire the horse.  =)  I've never had to show any papers or anything (even though I have them available).

And just from a practical standpoint, if you come in from the Reno
side (ie., I-80 from Nevada) you do not hit the Ag station at all
before turning off to Robie Park.
