I went back to the USEF rules to see what was already approved. This is a link to understand better the USEF drug rules: http://www.usef.org/documents/drugsMeds/2005Advice.pdf

As you can read there, Dexamethasone, Bute and other NSAIDs /(“diclofenac liposomal cream , phenylbutazone, flunixin/

/meglumine, ketoprofen, meclofenamic acid, naproxen, and eltenac (upon its approval by the FDA). Phenylbutazone/

/and flunixin are not permitted to be present together in the animal’s blood or urine sample.”)/ were already approved to be used in a limited way. All they are doing is adding one more NSAID to their list, as it gets launched.

The discussion on these rules is a valid one, but it is not restricted to this new drug.
