Thanks to everyone for their thoughts on heart rates. I
didn’t even think to factor in the heat/humidity here. Duh! I have
lived here too long when I just take it for granted. I guess I’ll just
have to wait for fall to see what he does then.

Alpine (who kind of takes the heat and humidity in stride)
Merlin (who had his first rider ever yesterday in the form
of my 8 year old, 50 #neice (Kaitlin! Come here and get on this not trained
yet 21 month old colt and lets see what he does while I lead him around the
yard!) and who reacted like he’d had riders all his life. Yay! In two
years when I decide to start him, he should be easy!)
