Re: [RC] Beware - overinflated corn prices! - Sisu West RanchIt is a nasty fact that there are 300 million Americans and several billion more humans on this planet. The inescapable conclusion is that we will "harm" the environment and every decision has a down side. All we can try to do is to minimize the harm. The most expensive, in terms of energy cost of all of the fertilizer ingredients, is nitrogen in bioavailable form. (the air is 3/4 nitrogen, but not available to almost all plants). Corn stalks and other field waste is very low in nitrogen, so while it benefits the soil it is not the limiting fertilizer in most cases.Ed Ed & Wendy Hauser 2994 Mittower Road Victor, MT 59875 (406) 642-9640 ranch(at)sisuwest(dot)us =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
