I think that is indeed, a huge part of it. Also, management will often offer
to take crew bags out to the vet checks for riders, as many don't have a
crew to do so for them.

Of course, when I think about anyone wanting management to provide <insert
feed here> at vet checks, I think of Paul's recent ride on the OD trail
without a crew, carrying all his feed except grazing for his horse, and even
HIS food for the 100 mile day.
