[RC] Reasons you didn't make it to a ride... feel free to add... - SpottedracerBig breath - here we go! Missed LBL this year - since my daughter was just shy of her birthday and couldn't ride... So I added Derby Dash to my list of 'want to rides' - then realized I couldn't AFFORD the gas + entry fees + lost riding lesson wages for BOTH.... So I decided to shoot for Derby Dash (for the my sanity - from the daughter's whinning!!) Then I missed Derby Dash - primarily since I had a bad fall 3 weeks prior - and the resulting whiplash was so bad, I was still having to take narcotics JUST TO GET TO SLEEP.. Aaakkk! I'm pretty tough, but Doc wouldn't clear me to do 75 miles... So I took some students and my Daughter to LBL and did a SLOW trailride of 11 miles instead.. (did have a Transmission issue also - turned out to be a sensor though -WEW!! good luck there!!) OK, my buddy Cheryl, has missed every endurance ride this year - since her mare has this periodic mild lameness thing going on, that the vet can't diagnose... From what I read here - lots of people have had this reason too...
