RE: [RC] Florac - Leonard.Liesens:-) please don't kill the messenger!!! But I like your humor very much... I was just speaking in the name of the organizer. It doesn't mean that I'm seconding these actions for easing the trail of the Florac race. It seems that the endurance community in France is divided, pros and contras. Some are thinking that Florac must remains Florac including the original course design and also the rocky trails. Some think that crushing the rocks will not drastically change the technical aspect of Florac but will help in terms of the candidature for a next European Championship. You have to consider also the fact that the Forum of Paris will probably set the minimum speed limit for participating at a championship at something around 14kph. This has been proposed by the Group 1( european nations). If Florac would remain as it was in the good old times, only the first and second, maybe the third would obtain their COC. Riders looking for a COC will them just choose to go to Rambouillet or Compiègne. The organizer of Florac doesn't want that. Who would be blame? The organizer of Florac? The representatives of european nations at the Forum of Paris ? This is never that simple Grand Prix : please do not mix up Florac with this Grand Prix's race in Italy... This was just a sham! Kinder for whom?? Honestly, this re-working of endurance to satisfy a few fat cats with fatter egos is absolutely repulsive...but so long as they're at it, and since they have more money and pull than they know what to do with, I have a few requests that would bring me over to their side: 1. Could you please have them send their rock crusher to Virginia. Since I have this monkey on my back and I apparently *have* to complete the Old Dominion, but horse shoes are *so* expensive, it would be nice to do it on a barefoot horse, so perhaps they could crush up a hundred miles or so of Virginia rocks for me. 2. I would like to have a Tevis buckle, but the canyons are *so* hot. Could they please have them wired for air conditioning? 3. The cliffs at Tevis look dangerous. I'd like guard rails or nets installed. 4. I *have* to have a Cougar Rock photo, but I hear it's gotten dangerously slick. Could they fly a Rhino-liner truck in there to spray it with a rubberized coating...then hire a fine artist to re-paint the rock in natural colors so it won't mess up my photo? 5. It would be nice to be able to compete in Florida in the winter but my horse isn't conditioned for sand. Could they please send a steam roller to pack the trails ahead of me? 6. I was going to ask for a lighted course, but since they're getting rid of all night riding I suppose that won't be necessary. Could they please install shade though? Finally...a question. Is there anyone or any country out there that can't be bought any more? Please pass my questions & requests on to the Grand Prix.
