Truman,

So you are inclined to think that:

 1) the current "longer hold time -> faster ride time" relationship  
is the correct one?

and

  2) there is no AERC mechanism to allow for AERC completions for  
riders who are on the trail longer than the prescribed competition  
time (7:15 in the case of a 30)?

(and I remember one year at Bully Wully where steph finished  
first,last and got bc b/c all the other 100 milers finished in 26+  
hours (I think she beat the cut-off by 20 min or so)
