Mabrouk, Nik. Should anyone doubt that what is said on Ridecamp reaches other ears, this is a good example. They DO read Ridecamp and some other lists in some of the upper levels of FEI and definitely in the UAE.  After our initial baptism by fire in UAE endurance in 2000, I was talking about some of the less attractive aspects of our ride (like the insistence of the winner in wearing spurs the entire time although they were against the rules) on Ridecamp and on a local list. Someone took the trouble of writing a newspaper report on the ride that essentially was a rebuttal to an email on a local list (though reading that list was never mentioned), and I got a lot of nasty threatening phone calls to tell me to stop talking so much on the internet. They did stop holding rides in Egypt because we couldn't be trusted to take the money and shut up.

I never did stop. Letting the sunlight shine on nasty things tends to be cleansing, I think.

Valerie Kanavy won .The Sheikhs were just on a steep learning curve .

By the way thank you guys for bringing back some sense and dignity to the
FEI .The 'noise' you guys made on endurance.net did make a difference .!The
reversal in the CoC belong to you sirs and madams!
