My daughters 4-H friends mare was spayed. They had tried less aggressive measures but none had worked. Worked great for them. Expensive but well worth it in my opinion if the mare is wonderful in every other way except during her heat cycle. We just got our first filly, yearling, and now I know why I have always stuck with geldings. We are trying to train her up in the way she should go, no squealing or striking allowed when in hand, so shall see if it works. I can't believe such a baby can be so sluttish. Beccy
