Re: [RC] rude riders and rules - Truman Prevatt

Susan,

It will never be solved unless someone takes a stand and has documentation to back up the stand. If there is a protest - the protest committee will have to sort it out. At least they will have to set some sort of precedent - which is more than we have now.

I fear it might get down to the analogy Eric used, "I know pornography when I see it but can't define it" type of issue. But given how the AERC works - nothing will change till a member uses the protest procedure.

I think you're right, Truman.
Perhaps the current board can address this problem as well. RM should be able to have some say in how we are treated at rides. As it stands, we have just a little more authority than school teachers!
My question is, if I deny entry and they go home then file a protest, what can AERC do to me? Ban me from managing a ride? Really? There's some motivation! LOL It seems AERC would want RM instead of doing everything possible to get rid of us.

I'm not trying to minimize the behavior - however - IMO the way to
address it is to file a protest and let the AERC sort it out. I'm
    sure
there are enough people that would share the protest fee. It sure
    won't
be solved by trying to craft a rule on ridecamp.
