I'd be willing to bet that most of our horses are doing that already, without it being a rule.


It is a no brainer that a horse should be down to 68 or less in a half an hour. Or even a lower rate, as many rides have been doing. I just don't see how it can be implemented universally due to the various logistics of some rides. Once you start having exceptions then we need to find a different solution as the rule becomes meaningless. Then you also have the variables since the system isn't universal - some rides are using 60 or lower for final criteria and others 68. I think that it should all be the same based upon parameters considered to be safe for the horse, as established by the vet committee. .

I think the logbooks are pretty cool and I'd be willing to use them. I'd be okay with it as long as I didn't have to bring along an entire horses history of logbooks and could just bring the current one. ;)
