[RC] Barbaro - Suzanne Boyd

When it comes to deciding what is best for our horses, I believe that it is a decision best left to each horse's owner/caregivers. One size does not fit all. It's easy to be an armchair quarterback and say what should be done. But when you are completely removed from the situation your opinion is just that...your opinion. I know how I would react to someone thousands of miles away telling me what is best for MY horse.

Barbaro is receiving the finest vet care in the world. I have complete faith in New Bolton and Dr. Richardson. I don't know why people who know next to nothing about the situation feel that somehow they know what is best for Barbaro. The fractured right leg is not the current problem, the laminitis in the left hoof is what has been the biggest, and the current challenge. But horses do survive laminitis. I trust that Dr. Rchardson knows when it is time to quit on Barbaro, and I pray that that time has not come.
