RE: [RC] 30 minutes - not workable for many rides. - heidi

Several rides that I've attended/vetted/managed that have had finishes a long way from camp have rightly realized that the half-mile or so back to camp is part of the trail's mileage, so that even if they stop the racing and assign the placings at the finish line, the walk back to camp is still a part of the ride time.  So, they've factored in the amount of time it takes to walk a horse the distance to camp, and have added that to the ride time.  So--the time still starts roughly when they reach camp anyway.

There ARE solutions to such problems, if one is willing to be creative.

They don't have the same finish line to deal with so its apples and
oranges. Their finish line is the vet check, thus no walk back to camp
time required.
