My old vet was a big bear of a man who was 6'5" weighing a good 230lbs without tack.(with tack probably another 50lbs) and his all time favorite horse was his little fine boned arab mare that was a shade under 14.2. He rode that horse everyday, did tons and tons of mileage on her,camped with her and still owns her at the ripe old age of 35.  We use to kid him, asking him where the  roller skates where because the mare was so short.
