Re: [RC] FEI---Super YUUCH! - Barbara McCraryTevis has some of the best vets and controls available for endurance horses. The "unkind" part of Tevis, if you want to call it that, is the terrain. That is very challenging: long steep grades in places, high temperatures, lots of rocks, trails on the edge of drop-offs, etc. That goes with the geography. There are other 100 milers that are similarly challenging, but in different ways.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Lewis" <mikelewis@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "L gin" <ladurgin@xxxxxxx>; <Ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, April 26, 2007 3:40 PM Subject: Re: [RC] FEI---Super YUUCH! As a newcomer to true endurance rides (read, Biltmore will be my first non-limited-distance race), it is good to see this dialogue regarding FEI. I was under the impression that FEI was the be all/end all of endurance. That may still be true, but it is good to see folks with more experience airing the same types of concerns regarding the COC. FEI's positions may not be what is best (although I'm sure they have their reasons...) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
