Do you have 'courtesy checks' by volunteers?I haven't been to a ride where a pulse box was used -- hadn't heard the term before. Like you said, it sounds like it would cut down on the running around for pulse takers, not to mention having to squeeze between two horses to take a pulse, or having 4 people yell "P&R" at the same time, and having to pick one. I had two people on each box one taking the pulse and one recording . You would walk into the pulse box , if your pulse was down then you would go out the other end of the box to the vet line if your pulse was not down you had to circle around and get in line again IF there was a line otherwise you could stay in the box until the pulse was down . I loved using the box at Darlene's ride and I got lots of praise for it at mine .
