I have found out, however, that he absolutely hates going through
stinging nettles.
*Yes, darn smart horse...the stinging nettles (NOT native to Calif);
should be avoided at all costs; some horses at Pt. Reyes that were ridden into
nettles ,or tied to trees where nettles were up to leg level, DIED, from
massive allergic reaction to them...when I ride at Pt. Reyes, I totally
avoid the nettle trails untless they have been mowed...although splint boots
can help protect the legs...
