Re: [RC] Peanut hay - Roxanne Ciccone

Kyle,

Peanut hay is like candy to my horses. I have been using it for years. The cost has gone up lately. I used to get for $6 a bale, and now it is $8-!0 depending on where you get it, that is in Florida. I believe the protein content is higher than coastal but less than Alfalfa. Anyway there is no waste as the horses eat every bite. I always try to bring some to a ride.

Roxanne

Subject: [RC] Peanut hay

HEY!

Wondering if anyone knows anything about Peanut hay?

Went down to a ride. A 2 day 75 in Georgia. The pow wow in Feb.

They had peanut hay at the water troughs. At first the horses weren't really interested but then really got to liking it!

I wonder how this hay compares to timothy/alfalfa?

Can't get it up here in PA. But I thought it would be neat if I could get a hold of some to take to rides as a little *treat*.

Kyle
