[RC] URGENT: Easyboot Bare sizing/fitting question - Sharon Levasseur

Hey y'all,

Sorry about the URGENT tag in the subject, but I need to make a decision this
morning about what to do.

On Monday I received the size 1 EBBares that I ordered to use during mud season
while Z is barefoot. Last night I tried to put them on him. Yeah right.
Their online video makes it look SO EASY, but I couldn't get his toe all the
way in and his heel down... not for love, nor money, nor rubber mallet.

Now, I found that interesting because on the size chart he was a size 1. Upper
end, yes, but size 1. His RF foot is 4 3/4" wide and 5" long, and his LF foot
is 4 7/8" wide and 5" long.

I called Easy Care and they told me to send them back for a size 2. They said
that since he's so close to the upper limit for width, and he's only 2.5 weeks
into a 6-8 week trim cycle, I was going to need the larger size anyway. (NOTE:
I know I'm not the only dunderhead who didn't think about the issue of growth
between trims, why don't they put a note like that on their size charts??)

I'm a little nervous that the size 2 will be too big so I asked whether it would
be best to try the size 1s WITHOUT the heel strap. They said I could try it but
I'd need the heel tapers to replace the heel strap.

That would only help with the length anyway, not the width. What should I do?

A: Order the 2s and some heel tapers... don't send the 1s back until I know the
2s fit.
B: Send the 1s back and order the 2s (under the argument that the 1s aren't wide
enough anyway... the heel strap isn't the problem).

Thanks for your input.

PS... I don't want to get on a tangent but the first thing they said was
actually "The Bares are known to be harder to get on than the Epics. Why
didn't you order Epics?" I thought that was a really odd question!!
