RE: [RC] BC2A/L-carnitine - Jody Rogers-Buttram

Ok, I admit that I am the reason that Angie posted the question on this.

I told her that we used it for the first time at the OD 100 this past June.  Then again at the NC 100 and NC 50 in Oct.  Used it on four different, very different bodied horses.  I bought mine from Dr. Fleming's website.  So, I don't know if I got the best stuff or not, but think that I did.  Marie also used it on her horse at the OD 100.

The results that I can see, are that all three horses entered in the OD 100 finished looking wonderful.  They ate like pigs throughout the ride (and mine are hard to get to eat at rides).  They were strong all day (and night) and were bright eyed.  When we arrived home, they trotted off in the pasture.

After the NC, Cash was super.  He was a like a starved bear at the VC's.  Rose on the other hand tied up.  I did give her the BCAA also.  I am pretty sure that the reason for her tie up was something completely different.  But, the BCAA didn't stop it either.

I will use them at 100 mile rides.  I can afford the $10/horse for mine and Joni's in all rides.

For horses, but I've been known to use it on me too!

Here is Barney Fleming's URL for the BC2A product:

Apparently, you can now get it only through a vet. :)
