[RC] Alternative to Euthanasia - k s swigart

Karen Bratcher said:

As an alternative to forking over big bucks
for a vet to come out and euthanize a horse
and then have the carcass hauled off, or to
pay the backhoe man to dig a hole, you might
check with your local zoo if you have one and
see if they need meat for the big cats.

There are a number of places here is Southern California that (depending
on their current needs) will do this for you/your horse. As long as the
horse can ride in the trailer to get there.

This is MY first choice for putting a horse down. And not just because
it is cheaper than paying to have the carcass hauled off, but because it
seems to me to be the most respectable way for a horse to go....food for
some wild animal.
