I believe one of the Appaloosa foundation sires, Red Eagle, was sired by
Ferras, a Kellog Arabian. Ferras was used extensively with Appy mares to add
more refinement to the breed.

We had a great half Arab/Appy who completed Tevis twice out of two starts
among other things. His mother was a granddaughter of Malibu Chief, who was
a grandson of Red Eagle.
