That's not true. The Appaloosa horse registry accepts Arabians as an acceptable outcross. So in this case, the dam was Appaloosa and the sire was Arabian, so the filly IS registrable as an Appaloosa. All you have to do is some paperwork and have the Arabian parent's bloodwork or DNA transferred over to the Appaloosa horse registry.

WHAT I HAVE: one registered half-Arabian filly who could also be registered
as an Appaloosa. She is coming three years old and around 14.3 hh/15 hh.
She is a LOUD near leopard chestnut. She leads, loads, ties, clips, stands



sorry but if the filly is only half arabian., she cant be registed an appaloosa...,even though she has color... unless she is spayed and then you could request a hardship registration.

both parents must be registered full blooded., arab, qh, appal, or thoroughbred...and they are thinking about closing the registry to just full blooded appaloosas.
