[RC] Help requested from you rescuers or haulers - SandyDSA

We got an email about a mare who needs a home - and "for a couple hundred dollars", a mare who is  what we like in terms of lines and temperament. Then it became a couple thousands when I called, then got a quote to haul her - getting to be a really expensive ordeal to keep this girl from the auction or a potential resale home which generally can spell trouble....I think killers on cheap horses. She is not popular bloodlines so has no real marketable value, but we would be happy to bring her here and give her a forever home. The cost is something we didn't count on since we had not BEEN in the market for a new horse yet - but keep and care not the issue. Anyone coming from Montana in the coming month or so? I was so disappointed after talking to the owner (who BTW does not yet have her papers, either) then I read so many stories lately about Arabians being abandoned and going to auction etc. Had some good plans for this girl - she would be an ideal companion and breeding partner for our old stallion nice lines for endurance I think - and a good riding horse eventually for me since we have senior citizens and two yearlings - one to be sold for show competition. What would have been a simple retrieval is now an expensive situation. I feel badly because she is not popular breeding lines and so does not have huge prospects, but she has value to US. We have two close relatives of hers, and know what she COULD be. Anyone coming from MT for a ride - to the Mohave area?
