<<Crazy busy day today-
I've received nearly 100 phone calls and 30 messages
from folks on an Endurance board. The story spirled
out of control- I was called and asked why I am not
cooperating with the old owner who had her horse sold
without her knowledge to slaughter! There is nothing
farther from the truth!

The REAL story:
The owner tried to sell the horse locally, and offere
it to Ahmisa Animal Rescue here in Ft Collins, who
said (like everyone else here) we are full and not
acceping new horses. She dropped it off at the sale,
and said a Cowboy was asking her questions about the
horse and seemed interested. She assumed he would buy
Medina and did not think kill buyers were at this sale
(although, the kill buyers's Semi's, plaquered with
their name and "horses for sale" are openly parked in
the parking lot). Then I called and told her what I
knew, an asked for her help getting the horse out. The
previous owner has offered to help, even offered to
pick up the mare at the feedlot and bring her back to
her farm until a home is found.

The horse was pulled off to the side last night by
Amber of Shiloh Acres knowing that we had leads on
getting her a home. A good friend of my neighbor's
left this morning (she's 200 miles away) to pick up
the mare- she has been looking for one like this for a
long time, and my neighbor asked me to keep an eye
open for a horse that would fit the description. This
woman who is adopting Medina has had her other 2 mares
for 22 years (one is 32 yrs old now) and wants a
younger, fiestier trail riding horse. She has great
refrences and is paying the mare's ransom directly,
and taking her home. Since we do not have an open
stall, this works out wonderfully.

I am stunned by the outpouring of support from the
Arabian Horse Association in regards to this mare. >>
