[RC] Conformation - Bruce Weary

All of the horses I listed in my previous post, despite their conformational faults and differences, had one thing in common: A Great Mind. And that makes all the difference. My kids started in endurance at the ages of 8 and 9. I only put them on horses with great minds. In all their years and hundreds of miles of riding, they never got hurt. And there were plenty of occasions when horses with lesser minds could have easily brought them harm by acting or reacting improperly. One daughter made SW junior champ one year with her horse, Big Nose George. She loved that horse so.
When he had to be put down, she stopped riding altogether. Boys and cars took precedence. But you can't take the horse out of the girl completely. Lately, she has been asking to ride again.............
Here's a conversation that has never taken place: "I just think it's terrible that little girl's horse bucked, dumped and trampled her." "Yes, but doesn't he have lovely conformation?" Dr Q
