[RC] "Pepper" the Ayrab - WRSINOSKY

Angie:  Nope, I wouldn't ride a "Pepper" either.

Since we do get some strange ideas on this site, I thought I'd send one along that I heard at a tack auction one evening.  This woman, a self proclaimed "expert" (we all know several of these, I'm sure - both past & present), was informing these people who had just purchased their first horse of several of her brilliant ideas.  The one I overheard that struck a chord is the following:

Don't EVER change a horse's name. It makes them neurotic.

Hmm...I wonder. Do you think Doimas would have the opposite effect and calm down if I were to change his name to something like, uh, "Brownie"?

So, Angie, maybe you should listen to this ex-neighbor of mine and not change Pepper's name. Lord knows, we don't want any neurotic horses out there on the endurance trail.

In any case, congratulations. I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to have a horse that canters on a loose reins, loads with the lead over his neck, etc. Do they really exist?
