[RC] kids and horses - Amber B Fort

Well I for one am raising my little one out in the barn!

She is 15 months old and has her playpen set up across from a horse stall.  She has an assortment of toys to play with (small horse brush, soft farm animal book that makes animal noises, an empty milk jug and a variety of other things).  She absolutely loves when the horse snuffle in her face, giggles with delight and talks to them.

When we set her on our babysitters (horse) back, she wants the rope, not the mane and tries to kick.  The kid has been kicking since she was in the womb!

I do worry (all Moms do), however, I plan to teach her to be safe and make sure she is on a safe horse when she does start going solo.  Already have a leadline pony lined up for her to start on.

I KNOW how much trouble horses kept me out of as a teenager, so hope that my little one will be as horse crazy as I am/was.
