[RC] cribbing - rides2far

My friend had a backup horse that cribbed but he'd never mentioned that.
I actually rode it on its first 2 50's. Talked another friend into buying
it and she had a successful couple of years on him, then after a divorce
wanted to sell him. Got my neice to buy him and when he came here I
discovered he cribbed. I was kinda ticked off that nobody told us. I
would NOT have bought him if I'd known. He was great for my neice for
several years, then she got married. Now he's carrying a junior...very
successfully. He's 15, never a colic, GREAT attitude, SOUND, loves to go
down the trail. Wish to goodness I'd bought him for myself.

If this was a 'prospect" I'd say pass. But if this horse has a lot of
other stuff going for it, broke, good attitude, sound, etc. I'd think
twice before I tossed him out. A cribbing strap stops cribbing. That's a
lot easier to fix than bad attitude, not sound, etc.
