Re: [RC] Not true endurance - Amy Cieri

Gosh, I should be smacking my own hands for adding to this but after a long training ride yesterday and aches and pains all over I just feel like it. I rode about 20 miles yesterday in 4 hrs. SEDATE ride to say the least.
I've done 25's, 30's, 50's 100's, 2-day 100's, blah, blah blah. I have a disability that WILL mean that 25's will be my only option in the future and I will never feel that those distances under 50 miles are endurance rides. Doesn't mean I'll feel less of a rider. I'm just doing a LD and my body will love me for it!
Yeah, I agree, LD's should be more consistent in BC judging etc, we've got a long way to go to get LD's uniform but they are NOT endurance. People ride these distances for pleasure minus a ride setting. Are they endurance riders? NO.
Come on people, don't feel so slighted because of this. It doesn't make you less of a rider. We all do LD for different reasons, young horse, need a beer at 2:00pm rather than 6pm, disabilities, etc. Whatever. Just enjoy whatever distance you are doing and not be so sensitive. It looks like ego issues.
