Re: [RC] Glue for insulation--horse trailer LQ - Mike LewisYou're the first person I've heard of who is planning to use plastic sheeting. I assume you mean between the insulation and the panel, not between the insulation and the trailer skin? I was told to use 3/4" of dead space between the insulation and the paneling... and may end up with more than that. Will have to talk to some folks and see. I suspect the furring strips will be about 1" thick, minimum, which means I'll end up with 1.5 inches of dead space between the insulation and the plywood that (I think) is supposed to be the base for the furring strips to which the decorative wood paneling will attach. Just feeling my way through this... haven't done it before, and don't want to screw up the only trailer I'm likely to have for another 15-20 years (till the kids are out of college...) I believe my trailer guy wants to put up plastic sheeting before the paneling. He is a wood guy and really wants to protect the paneling from condensation. In your opinion, is the one inch dead air space adequate in preventing condensation? I think the extra plastic could cause problems with holding any moisture and possibly causing rust where it is insulated? Have you heard this?
