[RC] RE:Ride, not me!!! Tank - L gin

Something in your symptomes struck a note. So I started leafing thru my books. Here is a possiblility.
Food for thought.................
"Ergot is a fungus which grows on certain grasses and grains when weather conditions are right. It appears as small brownish or black nodules whic replace a few seeds on the seed head. It is very often seen on rye, and may be found on Bermuda..or Dallis grass. When eaten by an animal, it causes a problem known as Bermuda Grass Tremors or Dallis Grass shakes. This problem is more common in late summer, fall and winter.
The affected horse may first be seen to have muscle tremors, incoordiantion, varying degrees of excitement. The animal may hang its head or show peculiar head movements, tremors or tongue lolling. Paralysis may follow.
The symptoms may continue for days or weeks after the animal is removed from the affected hay or pasture. Some horses may recover overnight without treatment, while others may be intermittently affected for several days."P 324 "how to be your own Vet...."
( Also mentioned was Oleander posioning, 40-60 n leaves are enough to kill a horse....)

Here is another link, mentions that grain hays like rye can have a very high sugar content....

Maybe its' in the diet....if it isn't mechnical. I sure lean towards somthing bio-chemical going on .... the personality changes seem to tip that direction......

Your horse does have his rabies shot doesn't he? Know of two cases here that they think got them from bats......
