[RC] opening gates? - sherman

Unfortunately, not all gates are designed to be opened from horseback. Have you ever seen a wire fence gate? It would be impossible. Even on the ground, I have to get behind the post & use both hands to squeeze the gate post toward me to lift the wire that’s holding it closed. Definitly not something you can do from a horse. Sometimes there are big ruts all around the gates, too, so horses can’t “side” up to it.

If I had a horse that wouldn't open a gate and stand there nice and hold it for a dozen horses if need be  WHILE I'M MOUNTED, I'd be doing some serious training before I left home or finding another horse!
