Re: [RC] I GOT MY FIRST HORSE!!! - Rae Callaway

Since you're in Texas, you better get that Coggins done before you take her home.  It's a state law that all horses must have a coggins dated within 12 months.  Did you do a pre-purchase exam?

Subject: [RC] I GOT MY FIRST HORSE!!!

I have been dreaming about this day since I was a little girl!!!

I'm so excited I just had to share!!

The deals not done yet.....I have two weeks to wait, so keep me in your prayers.

She is an 18 month old stock paint horse - no paint markings.  She is a beautiful sorrel color with flaxen main and tail, white blaze, and one white stocking.  Her name is Ginger.

She is halter broke, stands nicely for grooming and rinsing, and has a very sweet disposition.  Her momma is one of the best riding horses at the stables with an incredibly smooth trot and a very nice easy lope.  Her momma has never coliced and neither has she so we are hoping for good health.  Ginger is not a "stalled" horse but stays in the pasture 24/7 except in the worst of weather.  She seems to prefer it that way and has not had any health problems including her feet.  She does well with the vet and the farrier.

It looks like she will be about 16h tall and a very stocky horse.  Good for lots of trail riding and barrel racing.

She hasn't had a Coggins test but she was born at the stables and the stables are Coggins free.  Should I ask for a Coggins test before we pay for her?

Any thing else I should check on before we sign the papers???
