I agree .... as a retired figure skating coach core muscles are very important 
...

And weight transference is everything in power .... tennis, softball, figure 
skating, anything that requires a redirection of angular momentum.

Riding requires strength to stay balanced and not inhibit the horse.   :-)

The lack of horses in the sports pages sort of reminds me of someone saying 
ballet is for weak sissies   LOL.
